Leaders linked to the Linda Mwananchi faction within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have unveiled plans to hold three straight days of protests in June.
Speaking at PAG Kivumbini Church in Nakuru County, Siaya Governor James Orengo said the demonstrations are scheduled for June 24, 25, and 26, aligning with the anniversary of the Gen Z-led protests.

Orengo urged supporters to turn out in large numbers, saying the dates serve as a reminder of young people who lost their lives during last year’s demonstrations. He emphasized that the movement remains committed to what he described as a push to “liberate the country,” adding that they are prepared to face any resistance from authorities.
He was joined by several allied leaders, including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi.
Sifuna said their visit to Nakuru was intentional, aimed at spreading their message on governance reforms and the protection of civil liberties. He argued that Kenya needs leadership that upholds human rights and tackles corruption, noting that development projects should not come at the expense of citizens’ freedoms.

Osotsi, on his part, dismissed reports of divisions within the faction, accusing critics of trying to create rifts among supporters. He maintained that the group remains united and determined in its agenda.

Owino also rallied supporters, praising Orengo as a key figure in the movement. He further called on the government to address youth unemployment, cautioning against the alleged exploitation of young people in political violence, and said the faction would continue its engagements in Kisumu.
