7 Steps Every Ol Kalou Voter Must Follow

Residents of Ol Kalou Constituency will head to the polls on July 16 to elect their new Member of Parliament.

Ahead of the by-election, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has released a seven-step voting procedure to help ensure the election is conducted in an orderly and transparent manner.

The process begins when voters arrive at their designated polling stations and present either their national identity card or a valid passport for identification.

The second step involves verification of the voter’s details using the Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS) kit to confirm they are registered to vote.

After successful verification, polling officials issue the voter with one officially stamped ballot paper.

The voter then proceeds to a private voting booth, where they mark their preferred candidate in secret before folding the ballot paper.

Next, the voter places the marked ballot paper into the designated ballot box.

Before leaving the polling station, election officials apply indelible ink to the voter’s finger to prevent multiple voting.

The process concludes once the voter exits the polling station after completing all the required steps.
