Gachagua Defies Threats, Confirms Kikuyu Rally

Rigathi Gachagua, leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), has confirmed that a public rally will take place in Kikuyu township on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

In a statement posted on his social media pages, Gachagua said he met leaders from Kikuyu constituency who invited him to speak at the event, an invitation he accepted. The rally is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.

He added that principals from the United Alternative Government have also been invited and are expected to attend.

Gachagua noted that he had received warnings and what he described as threats urging him to cancel the rally, but insisted he would not be intimidated.

He emphasized that Kikuyu constituency, like the rest of the country, operates under the Constitution, which upholds the right to peaceful assembly and association.

According to him, local leaders have already made arrangements to ensure the safety of attendees, despite alleged plans to interfere with the gathering.

Gachagua reiterated that his political movement would press on, saying it would not be shaken by intimidation.
