An emotional scene unfolded as his mother broke down in tears and embraced her son after days of uncertainty over his whereabouts.

Kinyagia was escorted into the courtroom by his legal team, which included lawyer Kibe Mungai and senior counsel Martha Karua.

This development follows a directive issued by Justice Chacha Mwita on Tuesday, ordering that Kinyagia be produced in court, dead or alive.

Family lawyer Wahome Thuku revealed that Kinyagia reached out to relatives on Tuesday evening from an undisclosed location, confirming he was alive and safe.

In a statement issued Thursday morning, Thuku explained that Kinyagia went into hiding after learning that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were pursuing him over unspecified allegations.

“Mr. Ndiang’ui informed his family member that he went into hiding temporarily out of fear for his life upon discovering DCI officers were searching for him over unknown accusations,” Thuku stated.

The blogger reportedly expressed his willingness to cooperate with authorities but emphasized he would only present himself to the DCI and appear in court once assured of his safety.

“He is prepared to report to the DCI and face any legal proceedings, provided his safety and security are guaranteed,” Thuku added.
