According to Sun King Chief Operating Officer Kota Kojima, the plant will enable the company to innovate faster and deliver quality, locally made products more efficiently.

“Setting up our own facility in Kenya gives us the scale and flexibility to grow a strong manufacturing ecosystem in Africa while ensuring customers get faster access to affordable, high-quality products made closer to home,” Kojima said.

The company produces and finances a range of solar-powered and energy-efficient products, including smartphones, TVs, fans, and freezers compatible with its solar systems. The Tatu City facility will initially focus on assembling televisions and smartphones built for use with Sun King’s solar technology.
