Kisumu: Man Stabbed to Death in Dispute Over Girlfriend at a Funeral

An 18-year-old man was stabbed to death during a confrontation over a girlfriend at a funeral in Karateng village, Maseno area of Kisumu County.

According to police, the victim, identified as Collins Hongo, was involved in a dispute with another man during the funeral on July 19. The altercation escalated, and the suspect drew a knife and stabbed Hongo in the left thigh.

Hongo was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to excessive bleeding.

The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident, which occurred around 2 a.m. Police later raided his residence and recovered a grey jumper stained with blood, believed to have been worn during the attack.

The body was taken to the mortuary for postmortem as investigations and the manhunt for the suspect continue.

Separate Incident in Bungoma: Guard Arrested in Colleague’s Murder

In Bungoma County, police have arrested a night guard in connection with the murder of a fellow guard at a bar in Matisi.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, involved the killing of a guard and the theft of several items from the premises.

During the manhunt, police recovered a 42-inch TV stolen from the bar, a motorcycle suspected to have been used in the crime, a blood-stained jacket, a pair of brown boots, and a cloth believed to have been used to suffocate the victim.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing and efforts to track down more suspects are underway.
