A tragic incident unfolded in California Estate after a 64-year-old man was fatally stabbed following a dispute over a Sh20 mutura debt.
According to police, the victim, Elijah Kinyanjui, was selling the popular street food when a man allegedly took some valued at Sh20, promising to pay later.

After eating, the suspect reportedly refused to settle the bill, leading to an argument that quickly turned violent. In the confrontation, the attacker is said to have grabbed a knife used by Kinyanjui and stabbed him in the chest.
The injured vendor was rushed to a nearby hospital but died from his wounds.
Moments later, an angry mob descended on the suspect and killed him at the scene, according to Nairobi police commander Issa Mohamud.
Both bodies were taken to the mortuary as investigations continue.

Police have condemned the mob justice incident, urging members of the public to hand over suspects to authorities instead of taking the law into their own hands.

Authorities noted that cases of mob lynching are on the rise, with up to three incidents reported daily.
In a separate incident in Kileleshwa, police are investigating the death of a street family member whose body was discovered in a trench near the Kirichwa River. The cause of death is yet to be established.
