Reports suggest that Mudimba, who had previously worked at KTN and Switch TV, had been receiving treatment for health issues, including high uric acid levels.
According to his family, Mudimba took his prescribed medication but collapsed and began convulsing shortly afterward. He later died at home, and his body was taken to a morgue in Syokimau.
A passionate sports fan, Mudimba’s final tweets encouraged Kenyans to fill Nyayo Stadium ahead of the Gambia match. On March 21, 2025, he posted on X, “Let’s fill Nyayo Stadium on Sunday. Gambia must fall. There’s something about this Harambee Stars team.”
Many of his colleagues in the media industry have expressed their condolences on social media, including journalist Mashirima Kapombe, who posted, “Death, Why are you so cruel? Eternal rest grant unto Nick Mudimba oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.”
