Woman Found Dead in Uthiru Bedroom

Police in Uthiru, Kiambu County, have launched investigations after a 29-year-old woman was discovered dead in what is suspected to be a murder inside her home.

The deceased, identified as Janet Wanjiku Njeri, was found by her mother on Tuesday morning, hidden beneath a pile of clothes in her bedroom. According to police, the mother stumbled upon the body while searching for clothes to dress Njeri’s young children for school.

The family lived in a two-bedroom house in the Gichagi area. Njeri’s mother, who works at a nearby salon, said she had left for work on Monday morning, leaving her daughter at home. When she returned later that night, Njeri was nowhere to be found, and her phone was switched off.

Assuming she was still at work, the family went to bed, only to make the grim discovery the following day.

Officers who visited the scene said the body had visible facial injuries, suggesting she may have been attacked inside the house. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as detectives work to establish the motive and identify those responsible.

In a separate incident, police in Kilifi County are investigating the death of 34-year-old Samuel Kithi, whose body was recovered from a borehole in Mtondia Maweni area. Kithi had been reported missing on October 20. Police said the victim had a head injury, though it remains unclear whether he fell, was pushed, or took his own life.

Meanwhile, in Kajiado County, another woman was found murdered and dumped by the roadside in Maragara area of Kibiko on October 21. The body had bruises on the back and neck, and police suspect she was strangled. Her identity remains unknown as investigations continue.
