A 45-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in an attack by the wife of the man she was allegedly having an affair with in Soy, Uasin Gishu, on Sunday night.

Police report that Sally Cherono, a resident of Murukuywo village, confronted the woman with a knife. The victim was initially taken to Ziwa Level 5 Hospital and later referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret for further treatment.
“On August 26, 2024, the victim passed away while waiting for surgery,” according to a police report obtained by media.
Initial investigations suggest that the suspect’s husband, Shadrack Kipyego, 36, who is currently missing, had taken the victim from Ziwa Machine Centre and hidden her at his younger brother’s house. Cherono allegedly became suspicious and attacked the pair.
“A confrontation occurred, during which the victim was stabbed in the chest. She was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries,” police said.
Cherono is in custody and will face court proceedings. Detectives have recovered a blood-stained kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, which has been secured as evidence.
The deceased’s body is at the MTRH morgue, awaiting a postmortem.
