Samburu Shops Busted for Selling Expired Food

Health authorities in Samburu conducted a raid on Loosuk trading center, uncovering multiple shops selling expired food products.

Among the confiscated items were maize flour, cooking oils, sugar, rice, tea leaves, and various other goods.

Loosuk Health Officer Samuel Lemeteki reported that these expired products were being distributed to unsuspecting consumers, many of whom were unable to read the expiry dates.

Lemeteki emphasized the need for health officials throughout the county to conduct similar operations in other centers to safeguard public health.

He cautioned that individuals found guilty of this offense would face arrest and legal action.

Local residents of Loosuk praised the efforts of health officials and urged them to continue cracking down on such illegal practices in the area.
