Ruto, Raila Forge Partnership for Political Reforms

President Ruto and Raila Odinga have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to advance proposed reforms under the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) discussions.

The signing follows a UDA parliamentary group meeting held at State House, Nairobi, where the joint framework with ODM was endorsed.

President Ruto praised the agreement during the meeting, describing it as a step toward national unity and a bipartisan approach to governance.

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina mentioned that the agreement aims to address the political crisis that has been affecting the country since June of last year, when Genz youth protested against the withdrawn Finance Bill 2024.

ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna quickly clarified that the agreement does not serve as the foundation for a political coalition.

UDA Secretary-General Hassan Omar explained that the pact will establish the framework for cooperation between President Ruto and Raila Odinga.
