Qatar: Israeli attack is ‘state terrorism’ and we have the right to respond

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has declared that Qatar has faced a “treasonous” Israeli attack that can only be described as “state terrorism.”

At a press conference in Doha, Al Thani stressed that his country will not tolerate any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity and will firmly confront any threat to its security. He affirmed that Qatar reserves the right to respond to an “open attack” and will take all necessary measures to counter it.

The minister revealed that the United States informed Qatar about the attack ten minutes after it occurred, noting that Israel used weapons that were not detected by radar.

He called what happened “an attempt to destabilize regional security and stability,” adding that “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leading the region to an irreversible level,” and that this action has exceeded all moral standards.

Al Thani noted that the attack came despite ongoing talks in recent days at the request of the United States to discuss peace plans, accusing Israel of trying to sabotage those efforts. He added, “Does the international community need a clearer message about who is the aggressor in the region?”

The minister stressed that Qatar has not abandoned any efforts to stop the war in Gaza, but after the recent attack, he does not see much chance of reaching a peace agreement.

He added, “Qatar’s diplomacy is built on the foundations of stability and political solutions, and no hostile act will prevent us from continuing our role of mediation and striving for regional stability.”
