Ruto affirmed that the government remains fully prepared to respond to the crisis.
He noted that a multi-agency response team had been activated to coordinate emergency operations in Nairobi and other affected areas.
According to the President, the team brings together emergency responders, security agencies, humanitarian organisations and technical departments to manage the situation and streamline relief efforts.
He said authorities are currently conducting rescue and evacuation operations, clearing blocked drainage systems and reopening roads that have been cut off by floodwaters.
The national government, he added, is also working closely with county governments to ensure residents remain safe, with emergency food supplies and medical services already being provided to those affected.

Ruto further urged members of the public to adhere to safety advisories issued by authorities, including the Kenya Meteorological Department and the police, stressing that the guidance is meant to help protect lives during the ongoing heavy rains.
The President assured affected communities that the government will continue providing support and will take all necessary measures to safeguard lives.
