President William Ruto has announced new appointments to several state agencies.
In a recent gazette notice dated May 24, Ruto appointed Benson Mutura, former Nairobi county assembly speaker, as the new chairperson of the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Board for a three-year term starting from his appointment date.
” I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya appoint Benson Mutura Kang’ara to be the Chairperson of the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Board for three (3) years,” the gazette notice read in part.
Similarly, Mohamed Said Rajab has been appointed as the new non-executive chairperson for the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO board, also for a three-year term effective from May 24, 2024.

Additionally, Dr. Ningala Kalachu has been appointed as the new chairperson for the Council of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate, also for a three-year term starting from May 24, 2024.
” I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and appoint Dr Nangila Kalachu to be the Chairperson of the Council of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate, for a period of three (3) years,” Ruto said.
