Five individuals lost their lives and eight others suffered severe injuries in a traffic collision on the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway early Saturday morning.
At around 3:30 am, a tragic accident occurred at Migaa, Nakuru County, involving a 14-seater matatu traveling from Eldoret to Nakuru and a truck, resulting in a head-on collision.
Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, stating that the deceased included four men and one woman.
The survivors of the horrific accident are currently receiving treatment at Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital, while authorities have relocated the damaged matatu to Salgaa Police Station.
The deceased individuals’ bodies have been transferred to a nearby mortuary awaiting identification.
