George Murira Mbugua, also known as Gaddafi, is accused of inflicting serious injuries on David Komu on April 6 in Kamulu, Ruai Sub-County.
According to reports, Komu was drinking at a local pub when he met a woman. After buying her drinks, she invited him to her home.
However, before they could spend time together, someone knocked at the door, and Gaddafi reportedly barged in and began attacking Komu with a club, striking his legs, arms, and head.
Komu lost consciousness and woke up two days later in a Nairobi hospital with severe head injuries, including brain swelling and blood clots.
The woman, who also sustained injuries while trying to intervene, assisted police with their investigation, as Komu had no recollection of the incident.
Mbugua has denied the charges and was released on a Sh100,000 cash bail or a bond of the same amount.
