While speaking in Imenti South, Meru County, Kindiki said the government’s engagement with grassroots communities—such as small-scale traders and boda boda operators—underscores its commitment to the Bottom-Up Economic model, rather than waiting for election periods to connect with citizens.

“This is why we consistently reach out to ordinary Kenyans—market vendors, boda boda riders, and small traders—because we believe in empowering people from the bottom up,” he said.

He stressed that leaders must act as problem solvers, not agitators.

“Leaders from UDA and Kenya Kwanza go to the grassroots to engage and assist the people, not to wait for campaign seasons to stir unrest. True leadership means finding solutions, not echoing public frustrations,” he added.

Kindiki was in Meru to inspect the ongoing construction of the Kamachege Modern Market. Earlier that day, he had also toured Ndaragwa Market in Nyandarua County.

He reiterated the administration’s view that economic transformation must start at the community level, which is why the government continues investing in infrastructure for small businesses and farmers.

As part of this initiative, the government is building over 400 modern markets nationwide.
