Mary Wangui Mueni told the court that Joseph Wangira Wabuiri became violent after she asked him to share household expenses. She had previously allowed him to move in with her, hoping to ease her financial burden.
Appearing before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe at Makadara Law Courts, Wabuiri admitted he threatened to kill Mueni and then take his own life on May 17.
He also confessed to making ominous threats, claiming he would do something “that would shock the world.”
He told the court his actions were provoked after allegedly finding Mueni with another man in the house.
