Detectives in Kiambu County have launched investigations after a man was found dead inside a bar in Githurai 45 in an incident suspected to involve stupefying.
The case was reported on Wednesday afternoon after the manager of the entertainment joint discovered that a customer who had entered the premises earlier in the morning was unresponsive.

According to preliminary investigations, the man arrived at the bar at about 5 a.m. accompanied by a woman. The two reportedly ordered two bottles of beer and spent some time drinking together before the woman left, leaving him alone.
At around 11 a.m., a bar attendant noticed the man was still seated at the same table and appeared unresponsive. She informed the manager, who called a doctor to examine him.
The doctor confirmed the man had died, prompting the matter to be reported to the police.
Officers who visited the scene found the deceased seated on a chair and leaning to one side. Police said there were no visible signs of physical injuries on the body.
During a search of the scene, investigators recovered a beer bottle and a drinking glass containing beer with crystal-like particles at the bottom. The items were collected and forwarded for forensic examination.
Police are investigating whether the man may have been drugged before his death and whether valuables were stolen from him.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers from Juja processed the scene before the body was moved to the Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits identification and a post-mortem examination.
The incident is the latest in a series of suspected stupefying cases reported in the Nairobi metropolitan area.
Earlier this month, banker and university lecturer Edgar Mokua was found dead in Roysambu after he disappeared from his Lavington home.
Investigators believe Mokua was drugged after spending time with three companions at entertainment spots in Lavington before he was later found dead near Woodcreek Academy in Roysambu.
Police investigations indicated that money was withdrawn from his bank accounts before his body was dumped at the scene.
Authorities have expressed concern over the increasing number of stupefying incidents, warning members of the public to remain vigilant, avoid leaving drinks unattended and exercise caution when socialising with unfamiliar people.
Police say investigations are ongoing to dismantle criminal gangs believed to be behind the growing number of drugging and robbery cases in and around Nairobi.
