Co-operative Bank of Kenya has invested Sh102 million in the renovation and equipping of three orthopaedic wards at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
The bank officially handed over the upgraded facilities to the Ministry of Health and KNH management on Thursday, following a six-month refurbishment project financed through the Co-operative Bank Foundation.
The project involved reconstructing the three wards and providing new hospital beds alongside other essential medical equipment.
The improved facilities are expected to enhance the quality of care for patients requiring orthopaedic treatment while creating a better working environment for healthcare professionals.

The handover ceremony was attended by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, KNH Board Chairman Abass Gullet, hospital Chief Executive Officer Richard Lesiyampe and Co-operative Bank Director of Corporate and Institutional Banking Lydia Rono.

The investment is part of efforts to support healthcare infrastructure and improve service delivery at the country’s largest referral hospital.
