The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has paved the way for the registration of The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA) after lifting orders that had temporarily halted the process.
The decision followed proceedings involving Allan Jayuga Akivaga, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties and the Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya.

In its latest ruling under case number PPDT/E007/2026, the tribunal discharged the suspension orders, allowing the Registrar of Political Parties to resume the registration process.
The Registrar is now expected to complete the exercise in line with the Political Parties Act and other applicable legal requirements.
The Ukombozi Alliance is a political outfit associated with former Vice-President and Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
The formation emerged following the rebranding of the Azimio la Umoja–One Kenya Coalition on September 21, 2026, as opposition leaders moved to reorganise their political platform ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The tribunal’s decision removes a legal obstacle that had delayed the party’s registration, allowing the process to move forward as the opposition continues preparations for the next general election.
