He commended citizens across all sectors—including farmers, traders, youth, workers, and professionals—for their determination in keeping the country moving forward despite economic and social hardships.
“The past year tested our strength as a nation, yet Kenyans repeatedly showed that our power lies in unity, hard work, and unwavering hope for a better future. From farmers and traders to our youth, workers, and professionals, you propelled the nation forward with courage and dedication,” he said.
Looking ahead, Oburu said ODM would approach 2026 guided by a vision of an inclusive Kenya, where children have access to quality education, jobs are created through innovation, farmers earn fair returns, and leadership is rooted in integrity and accountability.

He called on Kenyans to reject division, prioritize peace and dialogue, and place national interest above personal or political gain. Oburu expressed optimism that the new year would bring peace to homes, opportunities for the youth, dignity for workers, and renewed hope throughout the country.
“Let us choose dialogue over division, peace over conflict, and the nation’s interest over personal gain. Progress is possible when we move forward together. May 2026 bring peace, opportunity, dignity, and hope to every Kenyan,” he said.

Oburu concluded by wishing Kenyans a happy and prosperous New Year and called for continued commitment to building a united and inclusive nation.
