Mwangaza Breaks Silence On Murder of Meru blogger, Sniper

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has addressed the murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper, breaking her silence on the matter.

In a video observed by the Star, Mwangaza, delivering a sermon in her church on Sunday, revealed that her adversaries have devised a new strategy to target her. She asserted that they had attempted impeachment, legal cases, and a character assassination campaign against her, all of which proved unsuccessful.

The governor stated that they have now adopted another approach and intend to associate her with the term “murder.”

Mwangaza maintained her innocence, emphasizing that the blame would ultimately fall back on those who orchestrated the plan.

“They have come with another way. They tried impeachment, legal cases, attempted to take our lives, and tarnished our reputation, but failed. They recently came up with another [way]. I want to announce, as your Bishop, because the hands of your Bishop are clean. They want to attach the label ‘murder,’ and we declare that those who planned to tarnish the church’s reputation will face the consequences,” she expressed.

Sniper went missing on December 2, and his body was discovered on December 16. A post-mortem examination conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor at Marimanti Level 4 Hospital Mortuary revealed that Sniper died from strangulation. The autopsy also identified fractured ribs and head injuries, suggesting that he was strangled before being thrown into a river.

DNA samples were collected to confirm his identity due to the advanced state of decomposition. The examination indicated no defensive injuries, raising questions about whether he was subdued to the point where he couldn’t defend himself.
