On Sunday evening, authorities confirmed one fatality and reported six individuals as still missing following a boat overturning in Lake Baringo, situated in Baringo County.
Julius Kiragu, the Police Commander of Baringo County, mentioned that the boat was carrying an excess number of passengers from a local church at the time of the incident.
These church members were en route to Kokwa Island, as stated by Kiragu. Baringo’s deputy governor, Felix Maiyo, emphasized the need for careful boat usage in the area.
