“My client, Hon. Koimburi, has narrowly avoided being abducted just outside the Kiambu Law Courts,” stated Lawyer Njiru.

The MP, who had been released on a Sh200,000 cash bail on Wednesday, attended court on Thursday to receive instructions on whether he would plead to charges related to missing several court dates.

After the session, Koimburi held a press conference with his lawyer, Njiru, Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, and other officials.

During the press conference, a video showed an official signaling to Koimburi, which led to the sudden end of the conference. The MP then quickly alerted his legal team, and they hurriedly left the area.

As they moved toward their car, a group of men in civilian clothes attempted to grab Koimburi, but his legal team managed to stop them.

The MP and his team then rushed in the opposite direction, with Koimburi reportedly hopping on a motorbike and quickly leaving the scene.

Koimburi had appeared before the Kiambu Law Court, where the magistrate set a date for February 25 to decide whether to impose new bond terms.
