TVS Motor Company (TVSM) has launched electric scooters in the Kenyan market, responding to growing demand for cleaner and more efficient motorcycle options.
The company’s TVS iQube lineup comes in two variants — the TVS iQube 3.5 and TVS iQube 2.2 — capable of covering between 75 and 115 kilometres on a single charge.

Peyman Kargar, President of International Business at TVS Motor Company, noted that while Africa’s overall two-wheeler market is expanding at a compound annual growth rate of roughly 7-10 percent through 2030, the electric two-wheeler segment is growing at a significantly faster pace, with projections ranging between 15 and 25 percent CAGR through 2030-31.
He added that although EV adoption remains relatively low compared to the size of the broader industry, conditions are increasingly favorable for growth, suggesting a long runway ahead for the segment.
The rollout of TVS’s e-scooters comes at a time when demand for fuel-powered motorbikes has been softening, largely due to the rising cost of running them amid soaring fuel prices.
TVS currently sells petrol-powered motorcycles in Kenya, which remain popular within the boda boda sector as well as for delivery services and personal use.
The TVS iQube will be available through Car & General dealerships across Kenya and comes backed by a two-year or 30,000-kilometre warranty.
