Police in Meru County are probing the death of a man who had been reported missing and was later discovered dead in Michene Forest.
According to police, the body of Samuel Gikunda was found three days after he disappeared from Kiirua. Investigations revealed he had been involved in a land dispute with a known suspect prior to his disappearance.

At the scene, officers noted the body had a rubber cord tied around the neck and was wrapped in polythene. It had multiple deep head injuries and had already decomposed by the time it was recovered on Tuesday. The remains were taken to the mortuary for postmortem examination. A suspect has since been arrested and is being interrogated.
In a separate incident in Tipis Town, Mau Narok (Nakuru County), a 24-year-old woman, Risper Chepkurui, was found murdered inside her rental house. Police said her body, discovered on September 29, showed signs of a violent struggle, with blood stains covering the walls.
Her husband and their two-year-old son were missing, and detectives are treating the husband as a person of interest. The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile in Kitale, the body of a man estimated to be 41 years old was discovered in a maize plantation at Maili Tatu following an attack by unknown assailants. Police said the victim sustained injuries to the head, chest, and abdomen before being dragged and dumped in the field. His body was taken to the mortuary as investigations continue.
Police say the recent incidents highlight a rise in murder cases, with efforts underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
