A Nairobi law firm has issued a demand for the eviction of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Julia Muthoni Mwangi from a luxury apartment in the city, citing unlawful occupation and failure to pay Sh25 million.
In a letter dated September 30, Adrian Kamotho Njenga and Company Advocates—representing Royal Importers and Exporters Limited—accused the two of occupying Unit 02, Block D, Skyrock Apartments on L.R. No. 330/317 without fulfilling agreed terms.

According to the letter, Gachagua and Mwangi allegedly took possession of the residence on the promise of settling Sh25 million before occupation, a payment that has not been made.
“Despite failing to honor the purchase price, you have remained in unlawful occupation of our client’s property,” the demand read, adding that the firm had exercised patience in anticipation of compliance.
The lawyers demanded immediate vacation of the premises, acknowledgment of unlawful occupation, and settlement of any additional dues based on market rates. They also cautioned that failure to comply would see the firm pursue all legal remedies, including auctioning items within the unit.
“All actions taken under our client’s instructions will be at your own cost and legal risk,” the notice warned.
This development comes as Gachagua faces mounting political troubles, including high-profile defections from his Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) and intensifying disputes with the former ruling Jubilee Party over Mt Kenya regional politics.
