The vibrant celebration drew together family members and friends from both Kenya and Tanzania as the two families formally marked the couple’s union.

Koito is a traditional Kalenjin engagement ceremony during which the groom’s family visits the bride’s family for formal introductions, marriage discussions, and negotiations around bridewealth.
