[LIST] African Presidents Converge in Nairobi for Soil Summit

A roster of African Presidents descended upon Nairobi for the Africa Fertiliser and Soil Health Summit, with many arriving on Wednesday.

Scheduled for Thursday, the leaders will engage in discussions during their session.

This marks the second gathering of African heads in Nairobi within a fortnight. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi inaugurated the summit on Tuesday, preceding a ministerial session attended by representatives from various African nations.

The convening of this summit follows a resolution by the African Union Assembly earlier this year, and it is only the second of its kind since the inaugural summit held in Abuja, Nigeria in 2006.

While some leaders arrived on Wednesday, more are anticipated to join on Thursday, including:

  • Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic
  • Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi
  • Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia
  •  Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe
  • Nangolo Mbumba, President of the Republic of Namibia
  • Gervais Ndirakobuca, Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi
