KUCCPS Opens Portal for Diploma in Paralegal Studies at Kenya School of Law

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened its application portal for the Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies) offered at the Kenya School of Law.

The Kenya School of Law, a government institution mandated to provide professional legal education, offers the diploma programme to prepare learners for roles within different areas of legal practice while promoting professionalism and ethical standards.

The two-year course provides students with core legal knowledge, hands-on skills, and ethical grounding necessary to support advocates, work in court administration, or handle legal matters in corporate organizations and NGOs.

Participants are trained in managing case files, conducting legal research, and preparing legal documents. The programme also serves as a stepping stone for those intending to pursue advanced studies in law.

KUCCPS stated that applicants must have a minimum KCSE mean grade of C (plain), including at least a C+ (plus) in both English and Kiswahili.

Information published on the Kenya School of Law website further indicates that applicants must also meet one of the following additional qualifications: at least one principal pass in the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE), a pass in a certificate course in law from an accredited legal education provider, or a certificate of experiential learning issued by the Council of Legal Education.

The application period began on February 23 and will close on March 9, 2026. Interested candidates are required to apply online through the KUCCPS student portal.

Successful applicants will be admitted to either the Kenya School of Law Karen Campus or the Nairobi Town Campus at Development House, 5th and 6th Floor, New Wing, along Moi Avenue.

The weekday programme includes daytime in-person classes and virtual evening sessions, running for a minimum of two academic years, with three terms each year.

Students are allowed to enroll in up to four course units per term. To be awarded the Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies), candidates must complete the programme within a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years.

Previously, the Kenya School of Law required that at least 75 percent of the term’s fees be paid upon registration, with the remaining balance settled at least two weeks before examinations.

This marks the first time applications for the diploma are being processed through KUCCPS. In the past, applications were submitted directly via the Kenya School of Law website.
