The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened the inter-institutional transfer window for students placed in the 2025/2026 academic year.

In a notice sent to university vice-chancellors, TVET directors, and college principals, KUCCPS announced that the transfer period will run from July 14 to August 24, 2025, and will be conducted exclusively through the KUCCPS student portal.
This allows students who wish to switch institutions or academic programmes to do so within the given timeframe and according to the established procedures.
The move comes after the conclusion of the placement exercise and the release of the 2025/2026 placement results on July 1, 2025.
KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome outlined the process, stating that it begins with a student submitting a transfer request online. The institution the student wishes to join must endorse the request, while the current institution must approve the release.
KUCCPS will then finalize the transfer and issue an official letter, which the student must present to the new institution for admission.
Both institutions will access the transfer reports through their respective portals.
Dr. Wahome also urged institutions to support applicants promptly and emphasized the need to strictly observe cut-off points and subject requirements, especially for degree transfers between programmes or faculties.
