Speaking during a visit to Yatta on Saturday, Kindiki emphasized that young politicians should not be seen as threats but as future leaders.
“I hold Kalonzo Musyoka in high regard. He served as Vice President under President Mwai Kibaki, and anyone who has reached such heights deserves our respect,” said Kindiki.
He urged Kalonzo to use his experience and influence to nurture the next generation of leaders from the region, helping them grow into roles that can advance both the community and the nation.
Describing Kalonzo as a statesman, Kindiki encouraged him to remain actively involved in constructive national politics.
The Deputy President was in the region for a week-long tour that included various economic empowerment events. He affirmed his commitment to visiting other parts of the country to explain government initiatives, both ongoing and upcoming.
“It’s time to focus on service delivery. We are not campaigning now. When the time comes, each leader will be judged by their performance,” he stated.
He was accompanied by MPs Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi West), politician Anastacia Muendo, Maendeleo ya Wanawake Chairperson Rahab Muiu, and other local leaders.
Earlier in Wote, Kindiki said he plans to reach out to Kalonzo for discussions on development matters in the region.
“Kalonzo is a senior lawyer and a respected figure. I intend to speak with him because our priority is to ensure this region grows just like the rest of the country,” Kindiki added.
