Also present were Wiper Party Deputy Organising Secretary Muriuki Ndwiga, MCAs from Kitui and Machakos counties, party officials, and youth leaders.

Kalonzo termed the tragedy a deeply painful moment for the family, noting that losing a child—especially an only son—is a sorrow no parent should endure. He described Moses as a bright and promising young man whose life brought pride and joy to his parents and inspiration to many.

“As Party Leader and as a friend, I stand with Senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama and Commissioner Johnson Muthama in this time of grief. We mourn with you and pray that God grants you strength and peace,” he said, offering prayers for Moses’ eternal rest.

Family members revealed that Moses collapsed at home on February 4 and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

In an emotional social media message, Johnson Muthama shared the family’s heartbreak, describing his son as cheerful and hardworking, and expressing faith that he is now in God’s care.

The presence of leaders from across the political divide highlighted unity and support during the family’s period of mourning.

Kalonzo ended his condolence message in Swahili, offering comfort and wishing the bereaved family strength and peace during the difficult time.
