President William Ruto is set to depart for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Friday afternoon to attend the 37th African Union Summit of Heads of State and Government.
The summit will focus on building resilient education systems to equip Africa’s 21st-century human capital. President Ruto is scheduled to address the issue of education disparities that have left 98 million African children out of school.

In his role as Chair of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), the President will also present a report on Africa’s progress in combating the climate crisis.
This includes the Nairobi Declaration, adopted during last September’s inaugural Africa Climate Summit, which outlines a continental strategy for climate action and calls for reforms in the global financial system and Multilateral Development Banks.

President Ruto will additionally take part in a mini-East African Community Summit addressing the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and other regional matters.
He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with fellow heads of state, international agency leaders, and business executives.
