Huduma Kenya announced that the move is aimed at speeding up processing and improving accessibility for applicants who previously had to collect the documents from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters or regional offices.
“Police clearance is now within reach. Visit select Huduma Centres and get your good conduct certificate processed faster,” the agency said in a statement on X.
However, Huduma Kenya clarified that fingerprinting — a mandatory step in the process — still requires applicants to be physically present due to legal and biometric requirements.
The application process begins on the eCitizen portal, where applicants log in, select DCI services, apply for the Police Clearance Certificate, and pay a fee of Sh1,050. The system then generates a C24 fingerprint form and receipt for printing.

Applicants must book an appointment and present themselves at DCI headquarters, regional offices, or Huduma Centres with their ID or passport, copies of the same, two passport-size photos, the C24 form, and payment receipt.

After fingerprinting, the DCI processes the application within two to four weeks. Applicants are notified via SMS or email once the certificate is ready, after which it can be downloaded from their eCitizen account.
The certificate, valid for one year, confirms whether an applicant has a criminal record, pending case, or prior conviction — and is often required for job applications, visas, or professional licensing.
