Tanzanian star Zuchu has called out organisers of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 for failing to clear her performance fee after the tournament’s closing ceremony in Nairobi on August 30.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the singer said she was frustrated that the balance remained unpaid despite numerous reminders.
Zuchu revealed that her management had engaged with LEAP Creative Agency — the company contracted for the event — but the matter remained unresolved. She claimed that proof of payment documents shared by the agency appeared dubious.
“Despite my team’s patience and understanding, I have not received my full payment,” she noted, adding that she had turned down other shows to prioritise the CHAN performance.
According to her, even direct talks with LEAP Creative Agency CEO Roshan Soomarshun had not yielded results, as promises made were not honoured.
Calling the situation “unacceptable,” Zuchu stressed that she expected fairness in professional dealings and warned that she would take further action if the money was not released.

She urged CAF and CHAN organisers to resolve the issue quickly, noting that honouring agreements is key to safeguarding professionalism in the entertainment industry.
Her complaint has once again highlighted concerns over how organisers of major continental events handle artists’ payments and commitments.
