Gachagua and MP Ndindi Nyoro to Share Platform at Murang’a Fundraiser

Gachagua, alongside MP Ndindi Nyoro, is anticipated to jointly address attendees at a fundraiser in Murang’a, marking their first public appearance together since the 2027 succession politics stirred tensions among leaders in the Mt Kenya region.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will serve as the Chief Guest at a fundraising event hosted by nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege at Bishop Gatimu Kinyona Girls in Murang’a this Saturday. Notably, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro is among the dignitaries listed to attend, as indicated by the Nominated MP.

The objective of the gathering is to raise funds for the construction of a multipurpose hall in Kigumo constituency. Sabina Chege expressed her anticipation for the event, inviting attendees to her village of Kinyona for the occasion.

Expected at the event are several prominent leaders including Governor Irungu Kang’ata, Joseph Munyoro (Kigumo), Betty Maina (Women Representative), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Mary Maua (Maragwa), Edward Mureu (Gatanga), Joseph Nyutu (Senator), and Chege Njuguna (Gatanga), among others.

Gachagua has been actively working towards fostering unity and development in the Mount Kenya region by bringing together leaders from various political backgrounds. His recent engagements have taken him to Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, and now Murang’a, where he has met with leaders from different sectors.

During his recent visit to Kirinyaga County, accompanied by Governor Ann Waiguru and other leaders, Gachagua emphasized the importance of unity and condemned attempts to divide the Mount Kenya region along political lines. He urged leaders to prioritize unity and avoid engaging in divisive political tactics.

Political analyst Albert Kasembeli highlighted the significance of the Murang’a event, suggesting that it could play a crucial role in reconciling leaders across the Mount Kenya region. The gathering provides an opportunity for the Deputy President to engage with leaders from the region and address any divisions that may exist.

Of particular note is the expected meeting between MP Edward Muriu and Senator Joe Nyutu with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, marking their first public encounter since endorsing Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as a suitable candidate for the deputy position in 2027.

Jane Njeri, Kirinyaga Women Representative, urged leaders from the central region to unite behind Gachagua for the sake of regional cohesion and progress, emphasizing the importance of solidarity in the face of succession politics.

Recently, Nyoro reiterated the unity within Kenya Kwanza leaders from the region, reaffirming their unwavering support for President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as they lead the nation.

Wachira Kiago, the national chairman of the Kikuyu Council of Elders, echoed the call for unity among Mount Kenya leaders, emphasizing Gachagua’s role as a senior politician in the region. Kiago urged the community to speak in one voice and support Gachagua’s efforts to unite the region, transcending past electoral divisions.
