Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has forged a partnership with Homa Bay County as the county government prepares to host a conference later this month aimed at attracting investors.
DTB is the Silver Sponsor of the Homa Bay International Investment Conference scheduled to occur from 27-29 February in Homa Bay town.
The support, valued at Kshs.3 million, aims to bolster efforts towards fostering sustainable economic growth in the region by promoting long-term financial strategies and connecting investors with opportunities in Kenya.
With a specific focus on creating avenues for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), the conference seeks to draw investments that will contribute to the economic advancement and prosperity of the county.
Speaking at an event at DTB Centre, Nairobi, attended by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, DTB Group CEO and Managing Director Nasim Devji expressed, “Homa Bay is poised for growth with its strategic location, vibrant population, and the visionary leadership of the county government. That’s why we’re backing the investment conference. We believe it will unlock opportunities for the county by attracting investors to tap into its diverse potential.”
Devji noted that the county’s initiatives resonate with DTB’s goals to support income generation and employment opportunities by backing businesses. She further highlighted DTB’s enthusiasm for the county’s financial literacy programs for SMEs and its sustainability efforts in the blue economy, aimed at promoting responsible fishing practices to preserve the ecosystem.
Governor Gladys Wanga affirmed, “This conference is designed to spotlight Homa Bay county’s opportunities, entice investors, and generate employment for the youth. We’re delighted to have partners like DTB on board to enhance our endeavors.”
Themed “Unlocking the Bay of Endless Potential,” the Homa Bay Investment Conference aims to showcase viable investment opportunities, facilitate dialogue and idea-sharing for strategic partnerships, and facilitate the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). It also aims to unveil investment prospects across various sectors within the county and promote sustainable wealth creation.
The support for Homa Bay County aligns with DTB’s strategic expansion plan, which involves bringing its services closer to customers. As part of this commitment, DTB established a branch in Oyugis town last year and plans to open another branch in Homa Bay town later this year. This branch expansion is expected to play a crucial role in promoting financial inclusion and economic empowerment among the people of Homa Bay.
