Cab Driver Assaulted by Four Women in Kilimani Speaks Out

A Nairobi cab driver has shared his account after being attacked by four women in Kilimani, in an incident caught on video that has since gone viral on social media.

In a video shared on December 24, 2025, via Geoffrey Mosiria, Nairobi County’s Citizen Engagement and Customer Care chief, the driver explained that he had picked up a male client and was waiting for the client’s friends to arrive when the women approached his car.

He said one woman tried to open the front door while another attempted to get in from the back, unaware that a client was already seated inside.

“So I had been requested by a client, a guy, and I picked him up at Black Samurai. As we waited for his friends, these women came down, tried opening the doors—one at the front, another at the back—and then told the client to get out, claiming they were four and the car was supposed to be smaller,” the driver narrated.

The driver said that during the confrontation, the client shut the door, accidentally injuring one of the women’s fingers. When she moved behind the car, he intervened, but her friends then physically assaulted him.

“I told them no, I already have a client and the trip was arranged, so I can’t cancel it. In the process, the woman’s fingers were caught when the door closed. When she moved behind the car and I tried to assist her, her friends attacked me,” he said.

He emphasised that the women were not his clients and had not requested his cab service.

“They were not even my clients; they had not booked my cab. I already had another client,” he said.

Call for justice

Following the incident, Mosiria called on the police to intervene, re-arrest the women, and ensure they are brought to court for assaulting the Uber driver.

“Yesterday, I met an Uber driver who was beaten by four ladies in Kilimani. The video went viral, yet the women are still free. For how long will we neglect the boy child?” Mosiria said.

He stressed that while empowering girls is important, it should not come at the expense of boys, who are sometimes left vulnerable.

“The empowerment of the girl child is important, but it has unfortunately left the boy child vulnerable. Empowerment must be balanced. We must protect all children and citizens, regardless of gender,” he said.

He added, “Let us stand firm against all forms of gender-based violence. GBV has no gender, and justice must apply equally to everyone.”
