Authorities in Bondo, Siaya County, are conducting an inquiry into an incident where a 21-year-old woman was reportedly killed by her husband due to suspected infidelity.
Cleti Kimaiyo, the Siaya County Police Commander, revealed that the incident occurred at Uhanya beach in Bondo on Thursday night.
Stella Adongo, the identified victim, was discovered in a pool of blood inside their rented residence.
“The body was found last night. This is after she was allegedly beaten to death by her husband Ben Ogweno over suspected infidelity,” stated Kimaiyo.
Usenge Assistant Chief Manasseh Osuri reported the incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the husband, a fisherman, accused his late wife of engaging in an extramarital affair.
“The woman’s body had multiple injuries on the head, face, right thigh, and abdomen, indicating that the suspect had assaulted her with crude weapons, leading to her demise.”
Kimaiyo mentioned that the suspect is currently evading authorities, but the police are actively pursuing him.
The woman’s body has been transported to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations progress.
