Police in Chepalungu, Bomet County are detaining a 72-year-old man after he used a bow and arrow to lethally injure his 23-year-old grandson during a dispute.
The incident transpired when the deceased, Ezra Chepkwony, visited his grandfather Francis Bor’s residence under the influence of alcohol.
In the course of their interaction, the intoxicated Chepkwony allegedly insulted and provoked Bor, leading the elderly man to retrieve his bow and arrow to shoot his grandson.
Unable to hit Chepkwony on the first attempt, Bor resorted to directly stabbing his grandson with a different arrow.
Tragically, Chepkwony succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
Chepalungu Sub-County police boss Phanton Analo confirmed the incident, stating that the suspected murder weapon has been seized by the police, and the deceased’s remains have been transferred to Kapkatet Mortuary.
