Political activist Kasmuel McOure has officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

In a statement on Sunday following a meeting with ODM Chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, McOure announced that the party is focused on reviving its youth and student leagues nationwide. He emphasized that ODM is the only party in East and Central Africa that truly champions the rights of the people.

McOure urged young people to join the party, asserting that ODM is committed to building a Kenya where all citizens can live with dignity. He called on those who are passionate about a fair and democratic nation to consider aligning with ODM, highlighting it as the largest pro-people party in the region.

“We are revitalizing the Youth and Students’ Leagues and calling on vibrant young Kenyans to help shape our nation’s future. Stand with us!” McOure said, thanking Governor Wanga for her support and for hosting their meeting.
McOure also mentioned plans to lead an outreach campaign aimed at recruiting both educated and uneducated individuals into the party, as well as encouraging young people to sign up as ODM members.

Governor Wanga, in her remarks, stated that the future of ODM lies in the hands of young leaders like McOure. “ODM is the party of the future, and that future belongs to our youth—Gen Z and Gen Alpha. We want the active participation of bright young people like Kasmuel McOure,” she said.
This announcement follows a recent meeting between McOure and ODM founder Raila Odinga. McOure is known for his role as a prominent figure in the Gen Z protests against the controversial Finance Bill of 2024, having led the anti-government movement both online and on the streets.
