Police have arrested a couple following the death of a 28-year-old woman, Vallery Okumu, whose body was discovered in their home in Njathaini, Nairobi County after a dispute.
Okumu sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest, face, head, stomach, eye, breast, and leg. Reports indicate she had visited the couple’s house, where an altercation broke out.

The husband, a Tanzanian, told police that Okumu attacked him and his wife, prompting them to defend themselves.
Authorities, however, noted that the extent and number of injuries suggest the stabbing was a deliberate act of rage. The man reported the incident to police, who recovered the body and took it to the mortuary for a postmortem. The couple is now in custody as investigations continue and further legal processing is carried out.
Locals said the deceased was familiar with the couple, but the reason behind the fatal dispute remains unclear.
Separate Incident: Electrocution Death in Kakamega
In a tragic separate case, a 38-year-old man, Ian Ilavonga, was electrocuted at a house in Lumino, Likuyani, Kakamega County. Police said he died instantly after leaning on a live exposed wire while inspecting an unoccupied house with a friend.
His body was taken to the mortuary for autopsy. Authorities note that electrocution has become a growing cause of accidental deaths in the country, often linked to faulty wiring by unqualified workers and illegal electricity connections.
