Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu pleaded for an end to violence against judges and magistrates, emphasizing that life is a sacred gift from God.

Speaking at the burial of magistrate Monica Kivuti, who was fatally shot at Makadara law courts, Mwilu condemned the attacks on judicial officials by those who disregard the rule of law.

She stressed that judges and magistrates face constant threats, urging the public not to resort to violence. Mwilu pointed out the futility of targeting judicial personnel, highlighting the consequences under the law for such actions.
