A scene unfolded at the Machakos Law Courts on Wednesday when a Member of the County Assembly incurred a leg injury while resisting arrest by the county inspectorate.

Boniface Maeke, representing Kalama Ward, had arrived at the Machakos court to show support for Douglas Musyoka, his counterpart from Masii/Vyulya, who had been apprehended the previous day on allegations concerning non-compliance with county government building regulations at his Machakos residence.

Maeke was singled out by authorities outside the court and was forcibly apprehended by a group of over six individuals. Despite efforts to resist, he was eventually taken into custody, during which he sustained a broken ankle.

Following his arrest, Maeke was escorted by the Machakos OCS to the police station, where he provided a statement before being transferred to the hospital for medical attention.
