Authorities in Nyakach, Kisumu County, are investigating a case involving the discovery of a deceased woman in her home, followed by the lynching of her partner by a furious crowd.
As per a police statement obtained by media, Brigid Amondi Ochieng, a 35-year-old educator at Obwola Secondary School, was found lifeless at her residence in Oboch location on Monday.
Subsequently, her partner, Job Osogo Otieno, who shared the house with her, was brutally assaulted by a mob and rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital for medical attention.
Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday afternoon while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Jaramogi Odinga Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
Both individuals’ remains are currently being held at the same facility, pending autopsy.
