Police Injured in Ruaraka Women’s Fight

Police were injured while intervening in a conflict between two women in Ruaraka. On Monday, a law enforcement officer sustained injuries when he attempted to separate the fighting women.

Following residents’ calls for assistance, the officer hurried to the scene and managed to separate the women. However, during the intervention, a man, purportedly one of the women’s husbands, appeared and struck one of the officers in the face with a blunt object. The injured officer suffered wounds to the mouth and nose, necessitating treatment at Radiant Hospital, where he was later discharged in stable condition. The perpetrator fled the scene, and authorities are currently working to apprehend him.

In another incident on the same night, police shot and killed a suspected robber during a failed theft in Ruaraka, Nairobi.

According to police reports, the deceased was part of a group of five individuals carrying stolen goods when a confrontation with law enforcement occurred. Despite officers’ attempts to stop them, the group fled towards Kariadudu. Law enforcement pursued and cornered one of the suspects, who threatened officers with a machete, leading to fatal gunfire.

Recovered from the scene were a set of speakers in a green bag, a blood-stained machete with a red handle, and a non-functional Motorola mobile phone. The deceased’s body was taken to the morgue pending further investigation. The search for the remaining suspects is ongoing, as confirmed by the police.
