Fly-Dubai Unveils Direct Dubai-Mombasa Flights

Fly-Dubai, a Dubai-based low-cost carrier, has launched direct flight services to Mombasa as part of its strategic expansion into the African market.

The airline aims to strengthen connectivity, boost the tourism sector, and foster economic ties between Dubai and Mombasa. Fly-Dubai becomes the first national carrier with direct flights from the UAE to the Kenyan coastal city, initially operating four flights a week.

The inaugural flight, carrying over 119 tourists, landed at Moi International Airport, with dignitaries including Tourism Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua and Mombasa County Governor Abdulswamad Nassir present. Officials anticipate positive economic impacts and increased tourism to Mombasa due to the new route.

The government expressed satisfaction with the potential economic contributions and highlighted Fly-Dubai as a game changer for connectivity to the Middle East. Fly-Dubai’s Senior Vice President Sudhir Sreedharan expressed the airline’s readiness to increase flights pending regulatory approval.
